Monitoring system performance
Looking at what your system is generating at that moment in time can be a little difficult when the inverter is situated in the loft/cupboard or in a garage/outside. There are a mind boggling array of options available from many manufacturers, below are just a few of the many possibilities available.
The Mastervolt Sunwatch 25 can installed with systems <6000KW and can be fitted on any inverter, regardless of make or model. The wireless display has a very good range. it uses high frequency RF, with selectable channels, to transmit the data. it also stores the KWh total in the transmitter.
If you opt for an SMA inverter some have bluetooth built in you can purchase a Sunnybeam display device. This device isnt just a wireless display, it has a memory and can store the generation data for up to three months. This data can be used to create graphs of your daily, monthly & Yearly totals.
If you have an SMA inverter which doesnt have a Bluetooth network there is an additional card that can be fitted, the "Bluetooth Piggyback" card just plugs in and allows you to connect to the inverter via bluetooth.
Enecsys and Solar edge systems have their own web portal & iphone app where you can monitor each panel separately. The generation of each module can be examined in great detail. (particularly good for propertys which have various shading at different points of the day)
